Job description

Responsabilities

Responsible for supporting the electrical engineering design work on assigned projects under the guidance of senior staff;
Ensure maximum operational availability of MV substations by diagnoses of working methods and repairs of switches, transformers, cables, control circuits and transformers;
Submit regular inspection and control reports for all MV components such as CB, TR, cables, control circuits and protection circuits;
Intervene autonomously if necessary and be able to establish alone reports of ventilation and operation;
Follow up on urgent work by giving reports to the concerned Manager;
Ensure that work is done according to rules and security processes;
Perform any other tasks as part of your assignment and requested by your Managers;
Development and review of schematic drawings and single line diagrams, update electric schema and locking schema with last actual situation;
Ensure the proper functioning of the Genset back up, UPS, regulators;
Ensure a correct follow-up of the electrical installations of the backup ;
Monitoring the preventive maintenance of equipment (substations and GEs);
Ensure from proper maintenance of MV and LV facilities within the terminal: Substations, buildings, switch gears, Server rooms, reefers area with MV and LV distribution panels, High masts lightning, ATS… ;
Establish PRs for work and follow progress with procurement team, HSSE;
Make necessary communication and follow up with SENELEC and external parties whenever required;
Follow up of terminals supply of electricity and take fast action whenever terminal face power fluctuations or cut to restore normal situation and/or start up backup generators onsite and/or by other communication channels;
Update the SOPs with the concern Manager;
Work closely with all infra team covering activities within the section;
Communicate and arrange with other technical sections such as cranes/planning/warehouse and other departments as PROC, Finance, HSSE, OPS;
Evaluate and put plans, actions for new projects whenever required;
Using and following interlocks, LOTO and operating procedures and equipemnts isolation and start up;
Ensure logging or interventions after logging and cleanliness in electric substations HV and LV switchboard premises (Main Low Voltage) Tension);
Ensure the maintenance and operation of equipment and electrical equipment in the office and related use and in the villas which are domiciled expatriate staff;
Ensure the maintenance and proper operation of generators, inverters and voltage regulators;
Ensure maintenance of electrical installations and air conditioning of server rooms;
Perform periodic meter readings including water meters;
Ensure the maintenance and proper functioning of the lighting in the Yard, as well as electrical installations and equipment in the fridge park;
Ensuring permanent link infrastructure-HSSE – contractors on safety issues;
Ensure that procedures, requirements, and guidelines are followed by contractors in their interventions.
Assist the infrastructure manager daily in his activities including the supervision of the contractors

Qualification, experience and competencies

Education: Master II degree in electrical engineering.
Experience: Have a five (5) years probative experience (required)
Great experience in equipment maintenance (minimum 03 years desirable).

Other requirements

MV or HV field experience including diagnosis, repair, and preventive maintenance process.
Able to read electrical diagrams.
Capable of managing control and protection circuits of 6.6KV switches
Good knowledge of medium voltage maintenance (6.6, 30, 90 KV and above)
Robust adherence to safety rules for HV work
Strong communication skills
Problem solving skills with ability to analyze and recommend solutions to problems of high complexity.
Capable of working independently, and taking ownership of MV & LV scope, being proactive.
Ability to work rotational schedule, including long and/or occasionally irregular hours.
Experienced in MV & LV equipment, system design, installation, and/or construction.
Experience in Control and protection is highly valued in SCHNEIDER, MICOM P127, P122, SEPAM 40
MV protection relays settings Voltage, current understanding.

HSSE

Implement the HSSE action plans for your entity;
Ensure that HSSE guidelines, procedures and instructions are followed by the personnel under your control;
Ensure that HSSE operating procedures and instructions are written, approved and monitored within your department, service and team;
Lead or participate in incident reporting and analysis as required.
