This Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) seeks to build upon activities funded by CDC to support USG global health priorities in Vietnam through implementation of programs and activities that focus on strengthening public health programs.

This NOFO’s main outcomes are to:

Improve prevention of avoidable epidemics including naturally occurring outbreaks and intentional or accidental releases of dangerous pathogens.
Improve ability to rapidly detect threats early, including detecting, characterizing, and reporting emerging biological threats.
By responding rapidly and effectively to public health threats of international concern.

The target populations for Vietnam in this NOFO include, but are not limited to, those individuals infected and affected by infectious diseases, are at risk for becoming infected by an infectious disease. The target population for this NOFO may also include at-risk population for noncommunicable diseases and/or other public health emergencies.
The work under this NOFO will also target increased capacity at the national and sub-national level to implement and achieve outbreak/epidemic/pandemic control in line with USG and CDC strategy. The number and names of the sub-national districts at the time of the award may be changed depending on epidemiologic profile and disease burden.
