Applications are now open for the Community Foundation of NCW, a tax-exempt philanthropic organization that helps individuals, families, businesses, and agencies support charitable causes throughout Chelan, Douglas, and Okanogan counties to enhance the communities to preserve and improve the quality of life.

Their mission is to grow, protect, and connect charitable gifts in support of strong communities.

Formerly its own 501(c)3 public charity, the NCW Foundation for Youth was established to provide funding for programs that directly benefit youth.

Qualified applicants could also include:

Programs and projects in arts and culture, community betterment, education, health, and human services that serve a broad sector of the community, are innovative, and are responsive to changing community needs
Programs and projects that will enable nonprofit and charitable agencies to reduce costs, increase efficiency, and move toward self-sufficiency
“Seed Grants” to initiate promising new projects and programs so that such projects and programs are able to demonstrate their usefulness to the community
Programs and projects that address and help resolve important existing or emerging community issues
Programs and projects that support new and creative projects and people offering the greatest opportunity for positive and significant change
Programs and projects that facilitate cooperation and collaboration among organizations
Programs and projects that identify, enhance, and expand leadership in the community through the support of charitable activities that empower individuals
Programs and projects that improve the quality or scope of charitable works in the community
Operating support for organizations that promote the programs and projects listed above.
Geographic Areas

CFNCW considers grant applications only from nonprofit organizations in Chelan, Douglas and Okanogan counties.
Proposals from nonprofit organizations outside of the three county area may apply ONLY if the proposed project benefits Chelan, Douglas or Okanogan counties exclusively.
Projects that have already identified key partners, venues or other means to deliver services in NCW before applying for the grant are preferable.

Political activities
Purchases or activities that occur prior to grant decisions
Eligibility and Terms

Must provide a direct benefit to preK – 12th grade youth in Chelan and Douglas counties
Up to $1,000 can be requested for one or more projects/programs per organization
Organizations and schools that receive grant funding must wait 1 year (12 mos) before applying again
Funds must be expended within 1 year
