Nominations are invited for the CNBC All Africa Business Leaders Award 2018. The annual All Africa Business Leaders Award is set to honour business excellence and leaders who have made a considerable impact on their industry and community. The All Africa Business Leaders Awards (AABLA™) in partnership with CNBC Africa honour remarkable leadership and salute game changers of business on the continent for their continuing commitment to excellence, developing best practices and innovative strategies.

CNBC Africa is proud to continue the tradition established by the awards that define and celebrate vision, the spirit of achievement and excellence in business leadership in Africa. The AABLA™ distinguish and honour leaders who have contributed and shaped the African economy, and are visionaries behind today’s outstanding businesses. Winners of the Awards exemplify the best in African leadership. They epitomize the core values of a successful leader, strength, innovation, ingenuity, knowledge and foresight – values that are imperative to carving out powerful business in a Pan-African and global economy.

In 2018, the AABLA™ will once again remember those business leaders who have lead the way, not just for their organization’s but have moved Africa forward – sadly, these visionaries have passed away between November 2017 and November 2018, leaving behind a legacy

Eligibility

  • Young Business Leader of the Year: Nominee will have transformed a market, company, product or service and will be pioneering their organization(s) in innovation, special advancements in technology, management, production and operations. The candidate will have achieved positive financial results, increased shareholder value, sound management, proven corporate governance, together with intangible qualities such as integrity and vision.
  • Entrepreneur of the Year: Nominee will have displayed exceptional vision and leadership in building a company from the ground up and has made a major contribution to an industry and notable commercial success in revenue and profit growth in the past year.
  • Business Woman of the Year: Nominee will exemplify outstanding leadership in business. She will have achieved positive financial results, increased shareholder value and provided sound management, proven corporate governance, demonstrated innovation, best business practices and accountability, together with intangible qualities such as integrity and vision.
  • Innovator of the Year: Nominee will have created significant impact in their sector by transforming a market, company, product or service and will be pioneering their organization(s) in innovation. The nominee will have achieved positive financial results, increased shareholder value, sound management, proven corporate governance, together with intangible qualities such as integrity and vision.
  • Industrialist of the Year: This award category recognizes individuals who have made efforts in working with government or federal bodies for the development of any specific industry on the continent of Africa. The nominee will have transformed a market, company, product or service and will be pioneering their organization(s) in innovation, special advancements in technology, management, production and operations. The candidate must have displayed depth of entrepreneurship or business leadership, exceptional quality of innovation, collaboration and co-creation of product/services making significant impact on the Continent of Africa.
  • Company of the Year: Nominee must be an organization that is recognized as an industry leader. This company should exemplify financial, strategic, and product excellence while demonstrating business standards and ethics that possess qualities to which other business aspire.
  • Business Leader of the Year: Nominee will exemplify outstanding leadership in business. He/she will have achieved positive financial results, increased shareholder value, sound management, proven corporate governance, demonstrated innovation, together with intangible qualities such as integrity and vision.
  • Philanthropist of the Year: Nominee has to show outstanding moral, financial and/or resource support and investment in the community. This award honors an extraordinary patron who has shown exceptional leadership in the area of personal philanthropy and who, through their giving, has made a remarkable difference in bringing about sustainable social change.
  • Lifetime Achievement Award: The Lifetime Achievement Award recognizes an individual who has performed outstanding services and has made significant contribution within their company, industry and community. This award will be given at the discretion of the judging panel. Please accompany your suggested nominee with a motivation.
