CMA CGM Foundation 2019 Call for Proposals: Promoting Access to Education for Children in Difficulty

The CMA CGM Foundation has launched its 2019 call for proposals. The financial assistance will be granted between France (SUD/Provence Alpes Côte d’Azur region) and Lebanon, for projects meeting the following objectives:
- Reduce educational inequalities;
- Promote access to basic learning through the maintenance or restoration of a school environment;
- Help children and young people regain self-confidence, fulfil themselves and become autonomous;
- Reconcile children and young people with school and develop school retention;
- Prevent children and young people from leaving the school system and becoming socially isolated;
- Fight against all kinds of stereotypes in the choice of orientation;
- Introduce young people to the professions and the business world;
- Facilitate access to education for deserving young people;
- Engage young people in civic actions;
- Encourage digital development as a means of restoring young people’s desire to learn;
- Facilitate the acquisition of equipment to improve the living environment in educational reception centers.

The theme of the program is “Promoting access to education for children in difficulty”.
Grant Information
A grant application may not exceed €20,000.
Projects Eligibility
- The CMA CGM Foundation only considers projects:
- Relating to the theme of the 2019 Call for proposals outlined above
- That will be implemented in the concerned territories of the Foundation (PACA region in France and in Lebanon)
- Having filled and submitted a complete application before the deadline.
- Eligible organizations
- The Foundation only considers projects submitted and implemented by non-profit organizations of general interest, mainly associations.
- Projects initiated by individuals or related to individuals are not eligible.
- The Foundation only considers projects submitted and implemented by non-profit organizations of general interest, mainly associations.
- Territory
- The call for proposals concerns exclusively actions to be implemented:
- In France: In the Provence AlpesCôte d’Azur region only
- In Lebanon: in all Lebanese regions.

- Public
- The beneficiaries of the projects are children and adolescents aged 0 to 18 who are marginalized in the education system and who have one or more of the following characteristics:
- Children educated in an establishment classified as a Priority Education Zone, from sensitive urban areas,living in isolated rural areas, placed by Child-Care Services, in social,family and/or educational difficulties.
- Affected by long term illness,chronic illness, orphan diseases or rare diseases; children suffering from trauma(war, ill-treatment, sexual abuse…), with mental disorders.
- Suffering from a substantial,lasting or permanent impairment of one or more physical, sensory, mental, cognitive or psychological functions, a multiple disability or a disabling health disorder.
- The beneficiaries of the projects are children and adolescents aged 0 to 18 who are marginalized in the education system and who have one or more of the following characteristics:
Eligible Expenditures
- Financial support may involve investment and equipment charges: acquisition of materials,equipment, vehicles, furniture, offices/premises etc.
- The Foundation may finance operating costs related to the project up to 20% of the overall project budget.
- Projects must be co-financed.
- The Foundation focuses on projects involving concrete assistance to children
