Early Grant Information for NGOs

The City of High Point recognizes that nonprofit organizations serve an important role in improving the quality of life for community by delivering services to citizens in a cost effective manner through the use of partnerships.

The City of High Point is committed to providing financial assistance to those non-profit agencies which assist the City of High Point Government in carrying out its mission, and who:

Demonstrably contribute to meeting the City’s Council’s Vision and Mission;
Support the delivery of needed services that the City does not provide or that can more effectively or efficiently deliver those services;
Provide programs or services that enhance a City function or service;
Address a documented need for the non-profit agency’s program or service.

Climate Fund to alleviate energy poverty in Developing Countries

This Request for Applications is open to strengthening the Economic Development Efforts

Grants for African CSOs to implement activities in SGBV, SRHR, HP, and VAWG

Small Research Grants for the improvement of education

This grant-making trust inviting Charities to help Socially Disadvantaged Groups during COVID-19

Support available for NGOs working on social innovation, inclusiveness and sustainability

If approved, the funds will be disbursed after the start of the new fiscal year. Approved funding under $20,000 will be disbursed in a lump sum during the first month of the fiscal year.
Approved funding over $20,000 will be disbursed on a quarterly basis during the fiscal year.
Review Process

The application and review process is as follows:

All Non-Profit requests will be submitted to the City of High Point’s Budget and Evaluation Department. The Department will compile the requests and forward to the City Council Finance Committee.
The City Council Finance Committee will review all Non-Profit requests. All meetings will be public meetings, and all packet materials are public documents.
The City Council Finance Committee reserves the right to require any Non-Profit agency requesting funds to make a presentation to the City Council Finance Committee prior to any funding decisions.
If funded, the City Council Finance Committee reserves the right to require the agency to make a mid-year update to the City Council Finance Committee, to give a report on how the funds have been or will be spent.
The following items must be submitted prior to funding consideration:
A completed copy of the Non-Profit Agency Funding Application
A copy of the current IRS 501(c)3 Non-Profit status certification letter.
A list of the current Board of Directors.
The most recent copy of an independently audited financial statement or if unavailable a board approved financial audit statement.
Any applications that are not submitted by the due date, or are missing information on the application, or are missing the requested supporting documentation will not be considered for funding.
