The City of Ballarat is pleased to announce Community Impact Grant Program to address community needs by being innovative and creative.

Funding Categories

The CIGP categories are based on Council’s key focused areas. Applicants must demonstrate in their application how their project links to at least two of the following categories.

Funding Information

Applications will be accepted for grants from $500 and up to $20,000 (GST exclusive) and the GAC reserves the right to allocate funding amounts.
Organizations may apply on more than one occasion during any financial year; however, the amount of combined funding will not exceed $20,000 in the financial year.
Budget Requirements

Indication of other funding for the project is to be included in the budget.
An estimate of the number of volunteer hours expected to complete the project (Apply a rate of $30 per hour to determine this figure and include it in the project budget as the group’s in-kind contribution).
Applicants are encouraged to include matched contributions (financial and in-kind) for all proposals.
Requests over $10,000 must have a match CASH contribution at a ratio of 2:1 from the applicant organization (e.g. request of $15,000 match by $7,500 cash from organization).
Quotes ARE required for all goods and services over the value of $500.
Where possible all goods and services should be sourced from locally based suppliers.
A copy of the organization’s bank statement (not less than 3 months old) or an Annual Report.
The maximum grant amount requested cannot exceed $20,000 (GST exclusive).
For allocations over $5,000, 50% of the grant allocation will be paid on receipt of a signed funding agreement with the remaining 50% paid on receipt of a satisfactory acquittal report.
If your organization is registered for GST, the funding allocation will be less the GST component as per quotes supplied.

Local, not-for-profit organizations, groups, and associations who have their own bank account, ABN, are incorporated or have an auspicing organization.
Community groups planning a project or activity within the municipal boundaries of the City of Ballarat and that directly benefits the local community.
Partnership applications from local community organizations and schools that demonstrate broad community benefit.
