The United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF) has launched the call for proposals for the Prevention, Risk Mitigation, and Response to Gender-Based Violence in Emergencies (GBViE) Program.

- UNICEF’s total cash contribution will be $50,00 – 250,000.
Duration
- The partnership for the implementation of the project will last for 8 months (August 2025-March 2026).

- The project implementation districts are Mellie, Gulina, Gewanie, Elidiar, and Dalifagie, Dubti Woreda, Dubti Town Administartion , Abaala Town Administration, and Berhale district.
Program Outcome
- Women and girls have improved access to lifesaving services necessary for healing and recovery from violence and face reduced risks in their communities
Program Outputs
- GBV survivors have increased access to lifesaving, age-appropriate services, including health, psychosocial support (PSS), and protection.
- GBV prevention and risk mitigation measures improve women and girls’ safety and access to humanitarian assistance
Selection Criteria
- UNICEF will review and assess the proposal submitted by the partner based on the following criteria.
- Sector expertise and experience
- Proven capacity and expertise in GBV programming including GBV prevention, risk mitigation, and provision services to women and girls survivors of GBV.
- Previous experience working with UNICEF or any other UN agency, including in GBV prevention, risk mitigation, and response in humanitarian contexts, is an added advantage
- Operational presence
- Partners need to justify their local experience and presence in the project target areas.
- Structure and content of the proposal – to what extent the proposed work responds to the description of the call for expression of interest
- Quality of the concept and credibility of the proposed methodology
- The relevance and coherence of the proposed plan and associated operations
- The inclusion of appropriate interdisciplinary and integrative approaches from the various thematic areas is assessed, mentioning, when appropriate, the importance of the partners involved.
- Technical soundness of the project design and expected impact on the beneficiaries
- Cross-cutting issues including gender, disability, accountability to affected populations and prevention of sexual exploitation and abuse are adequately addressed in the design of the project
- Articulation of monitoring and oversight activities to track project results systematically
