Calls for Legal Assistance Proposals – Egypt

The Minority Rights Group International, an international non-governmental organization has opened Calls for Legal Assistance Proposals to secure rights for ethnic, religious, and linguistic minorities worldwide, and to promote co-operation and co-existence between communities.
MRG is supporting civil society organisations (CSOs) working to promote the rights of ethnic and religious minority groups to carry out legal work that would lead to the amelioration of the situation of religious and ethnic minorities.
MRG is seeking applications for legal assistance for members of minority communities/ indigenous peoples who are facing discrimination or activists/CSOs that are facing legal persecution as a result of their work to promote minority and indigenous peoples’ rights.

The amount available for each proposal is up to 3000 Euros.
The timeframe provided by the proposal should be between 3 and 12 months.
Eligibility Criteria
Non-governmental organisations, community-based organisations and networks which are working with and representing religious and ethnic minorities in and from Egypt can apply for grants to provide legal assistance to members of Egyptian minorities and indigenous peoples.
Applications from individual lawyers who have a proven track-record of work will also be accepted.
