Call for Proposals: Tropical Andes Biodiversity Hotspot Program in Ecuador

The Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund is accepting proposals for the Tropical Andes Biodiversity Hotspot Program to ensure that civil society is dedicated to conserving biological diversity.

To implement the third phase of investment within the Tropical Andes Hotspot portfolio, CEPF awarded the role of RIT to the International Foundation for the Promotion of Sustainable Development in Latin America’s Future (FFLA)-Ecuador. The role of RIT is to support conservation initiatives in key biodiversity areas (KBAs) and their conservation corridors in Ecuador.

  • Large donations range from US$50,001 to US$100,000
Eligibility Criteria
  • Non-governmental organizations, private companies, universities and other civil society entities are eligible to apply for funding.
  • Organizations must have their own bank account and be authorized under relevant national laws to receive charitable contributions. Government owned companies or institutions are eligible only if they can demonstrate that the company or institution can meet the following criteria:
    • have legal status independent of any government entity or actor;
    • have the authority to solicit and receive private funds; and
    • not being able to claim sovereign immunity.
