Call for Proposals: “In Her Shoes” Ending Violence Against Women Program in Armenia

The Un Women is seeking proposals for the “In Her Shoes” Ending Violence Against Women Program.
In Her Shoes is an interactive role-play designed based on the experiences of real survivors for experiential learning about domestic violence.
Participants engage in a simulation in which they walk in the shoes of the various characters experiencing abusive and controlling relationships. The role-play will be used in the regions of Armenia to engage the community members to sensitize them and to generate empathy.
Funding Information
- The budget range for this proposal should be USD 40,000 –USD 50,000.
Timeframe
- Start date and end date for completion of required services/results should be within January 20, 2025 – March 30, 2026.
Activities
- The selected Contractor will be responsible for the implementation of the following activities:
- Reviewing/Adapting the in her Shoes training kit to the local context following the capacity development introductory session held by UN Women;
- Identifying partner organization(s)/ activist(s) in target region(s) of Armenia to cooperate during the implementation of the activities is highly encouraged;
- Developing training plan with timeline and identifying participants among the target audience (local population, local government representatives).
Eligibility Criteria
- Requirements for the lead applicant Civil Society Organization:
- An officially registered legal NGO/CSO as per Armenian regulations working on women’s issues;
- At least 5 years of proven experience and results in working on issues related to gender equality and women’s empowerment
- At least 3 years of experience of conducting training on gender equality, VAW/DV to general public, including minority group representatives;
- General organizational capability (minimum staffing and structure of the organization) which is likely to affect implementation: organization can demonstrate that it has already developed and implemented similar projects;
- At least 2 years of experience in working in the regions of Armenia.
- Partnership with other women NGOs (coalition NGOs) is encouraged.
- Qualified coordinator (team leader) with:
- At least Master’s degree (or equivalent) in the fields of Law, Development Studies, Women and Gender Studies, or Education among others;
- Evidence of at least 5 years of relevant professional experience that combines working on with general public and/or vulnerable groups around gender equality, women’s rights and gender-based violence issues;
- Experience in organizing and delivering awareness raising activities;
- Experience in working in regions and forming networks with local population will be an asset;
- Experience in implementing similar projects will be an asset.
- Qualifications of the team members:
- University (at least Bachelor’s) degree the fields of Law, Development Studies, Women and Gender Studies, Education or other related study areas;
- At least 3 years of experience of working in the field raising awareness of women and youth;
- At least 2 years’ experience in conducting trainings and/or other awareness raising activities;
- Experience working in multi-cultural teams and environments will be an asset;
- Proficiency in English will be an asset.
