The European Union (EU), the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), and the Rural Development Agency of Georgia’s Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture are inviting rural households and businesses to take part in the Green Matching Grants Programme and get access to energy-efficient and renewable energy technologies.

Aiming to support the green energy market in Georgia, the grants programme will be implemented in eight municipalities – Akhalkalaki, Borjomi, Dedoplistskaro, Kazbegi, Keda, Khulo, Lagodekhi and Tetritskaro. Local Action Groups (LAGs) and the Caucasus Environmental NGO Network (CENN) will be involved in disseminating information and working with the potential applicants.

Funding Information

Simple solar water and solar air heaters (sSWH/sSAH): Maximum grant amount of GEL 1,000 and contribution of at least 10% of the total value by the beneficiary (matching grant up to 90 %).
Industrial solar water heaters (vSWH): Maximum grant amount of GEL 3,000 and contribution of at least 20% of the total value by the beneficiary (matching grant up to 80%).
Envelope insulation – 1st floor only/floor of attic/ceiling of basement: Maximum grant amount of GEL 8,000 and co-financing of at least 30% of the total value (matching grant up to 70%).
Full envelope insulation: Maximum grant amount of GEL 12,000 and contribution of 40% of the total value by the beneficiary (matching grant up to 60%).
Eligibility Criteria

Citizen of Georgia.
Owner of the house or the business premise.
Permanent resident of any one of the following municipalities: Akhalkalaki, Borjomi, Dedoplistskaro, Kazbegi, Keda, Khulo, Lagodekhi or Tetritskaro.
Bank account on the Customer’s name with any bank in Georgia.
