Call for Concepts to implement the USAID Primary Health Care Improvement Program

The Nigeria USAID-Abuja seeks concepts from qualified entities to implement the USAID Primary Health Care Improvement Program.

Through awards under this program description, USAID/Nigeria will support the country’s goal of moving to a sector-wide approach by supporting one country’s plan, budget, and report and to transform the health sector in Nigeria to provide a healthier, more productive future for all Nigerians.
Address supply and demand side issues among selected primary and secondary referral facilities to develop networks of service providers and care and reduce disease-specific siloes so that care is continuous and well-coordinated across patient lifespans.
USAID intends to issue one or more awards that will collaborate with USAID/Nigeria’s other activities that focus on the areas of human resources for health, healthcare financing (including support for health insurance), community health, social and behavior change communication, data use, and strengthening health information.

Subject to funding availability, USAID intends to provide up to $40,000,000 in total USAID funding for one or more renewal awards.
- Initial Period of Performance (Project Year 1- 3): Up to $24,000,000
- Renewal Period of Performance (Project Year 4-5): Budgeted up to $16,000,000

Eligible Applicant
- Eligibility for this NOFO is restricted to local Nigerian organizations.
- USAID defines a “local entity” as an individual, a corporation, a nonprofit organization, or another body of persons that:
- Is legally organized under the laws of Nigeria;
- Has as its principal place of business or operations in Nigeria; and
- Is
- majority owned (51%) by individuals who are citizens or lawful permanent residents of Nigeria; and
- managed by a governing body the majority of who are citizens or lawful permanent residents of the country receiving assistance.
USAID welcomes applications from organizations that have not previously received financial assistance from USAID.
