Vice President, Investment (Structured Product Solutions) – (Investment / Private Equity / Infrastructure) – Nigeria

Responsibilities:
  Origination Initiation of transactions via proactive development of client relationships, in conjunction with Sector Heads, as well as the identification of client need
Development of bespoke credit solutions for presentation to existing and potential customers.
Preparation & presentation of detailed credit analysis, including pitch books & proposals as required to create investment opportunities, with a view to providing and/or mobilizing funding.
Execution Evaluation & structuring transactions to make them bankable by overseeing and participating in the financial evaluation/due diligence to identify key value/cost drivers & potential risks, where necessary in collaboration with the sector experts
Adding value to transactions and clients for the benefit of the organisation through knowledge of the subject, innovation and lateral thinking.
Performance of detailed credit analyses to ensure that transactions are properly analysed, structured, priced and documented.
Obtaining the relevant internal approvals for transactions by leading and participating in the preparation of the organisation’s credit review documentation and presenting investment thesis to the appropriate committees.
Leading and/or actively participating in the successful conclusion of negotiations by managing multiple-jurisdiction legal documents such as term sheets, facility agreements, shareholder agreements, etc. and compliance with all required procedures, laws and regulations.
Monitoring Working in collaboration with the Portfolio Management team to proactively monitor and manage the performance of assigned investments and developing strategies to mitigate ongoing risk to ensure compliance with all credit policies and procedures:
Follow up on any post-closing action items and ongoing monitoring of key risks identified during due diligence.
Analysis of operational and financial performance.
Provide appropriate support in supervising, coaching and development of Associates, Analysts & Interns operating within the Division
 Requirements: Qualification and Skill
  Possess a strong record of academic achievement at the undergraduate level from a leading university in engineering/economics/finance/legal or related discipline.
Relevant advanced degree in Business Administration, Finance, Investments or in other related field, or a relevant professional qualification will be advantageous.
Relevant certifications related to finance and/ or project management will be advantageous.
10 -12 years of work experience in investment banking, private equity, consulting and/or industrial conglomerate.
Fluency in writing and speaking English is mandatory.
French, and/or Portuguese will be advantageous.
Willingness to travel “out-of-station” with minimal prior notice
Ability to originate and generate new business leads towards enhancing the overall business development efforts of the organization.
Ability to read, understand and interpret a set of annual financial statements.
Experience in development & marketing of products such as guarantees and instruments for tenor elongation will be advantageous.
Experience in transactions involving credit enhancements such as political risk insurance, export credits, etc., will be advantageous.
Experience in transactions involving complex structures such as credit linked notes and asset/commodity backed loans, etc., will be advantageous.
An understanding of the taxation of companies, financial institutions and shareholders will be advantageous.
Relevant existing networks or contacts required for origination of infrastructure finance transactions in Africa. Extensive experience in leading debt and/or equity investments in infrastructure investments in Africa and applying complex deal structuring to capital expansion projects.
Fully conversant with and able to operate all relevant software, such as: Word, Excel, Internet, PowerPoint. Attributes
Self-starter with a proven ability to show initiative, shoulder responsibility and be proactive.
Business development mindset with a network of contacts with governments and government-departments, entrepreneurs, corporates, banks, private equity and development finance institutions that have a focus on infrastructure development in Africa.
Strong team work mindset, and ability to work seamlessly with staff across the organisation.
