Job Description:
The Principle Metallurgy will be required to lead the work streams for company growth projects and provide operational support to ensure that assets are developed and optimized to deliver the company growth strategy and operational business plan for the Africa continent.
Responsibilities:
Manage the metallurgy/processing disciplines for major Greenfields and Brownfields project studies, through to Project Implementation and operations.
Working collaboratively with all stakeholders and operation personnel to drive the highest value project and operational outcomes
Work collaboratively with Head of Metallurgy to maintain alignment to business strategic objectives
Build and manage multi-cultural and multi-disciplinary metallurgy/processing teams with internal and external resources to maximize value to develop and achieve project deliverables
Completion of processing related project deliverables and documentation in line with company requirements
Report on and present progress and outcomes to senior management and actively aim to introduce processing business improvements related to process and technology
Requirements: Qualification and Skill
Mineral Processing/Metallurgical Engineering Degree
A completed or in process of completion – Chartered Professional accreditation in AusIMM
10 years relevant technical and industry experience
Experience as processing lead for delivery of scoping, pre-feasibility and feasibility studies
Proven technical knowledge and skills in metallurgical process design and optimization
Track record of working with multi-functional technical teams
Track record of delivery in metallurgical continuous improvement
Expert knowledge of metallurgical practices and processes, including geometallurgy
Excellent understanding of metallurgical process design
A deep knowledge of safety systems used in the Mining Industry
Strong working knowledge of continuous improvement processes and methods
Proven technical leadership in metallurgy
Well-developed planning skills
Highly developed analytical skills
