Job Description:
Reporting directly to the VP HSSEQ, the Senior / Head of HSSEQ Manager will be responsible for cultivating a culture where HSSEQ is engrained as a core value with all Company employees. This role will be responsible for the design, implementation, communication, and coordination of all health, safety, security, environmental and quality programs for their assigned region. The role holder will also develop and provide technical and administrative direction on all HSSEQ decisions which bear critical importance to overall company objectives, operations, and profitability.
Responsibilities:
Develop and improve safety processes globally
Provide strategic guidance on managing hazardous and non-hazardous matters globally
Advise on best safety practice for hazardous and on-hazardous waste
Provide leadership and guidance to develop the HSSEQ team
Organise and implement HSSEQ induction training for all employees
Audit the HSSEQ framework in each project
Maintain and improve the business Integrated Management System
Plan and implement site inspections to improve safety and environment practices
Manage ISO implementation
Drive certification of international and country specific standards
Provide guidance on HSSEQ framework to line managers
Coach leadership to instil an environment that will embrace participation and empowerment for a safe workplace
Develops policies, procedures and instructions necessary to ensure effective planning, operation and control of the HSSEQ department
Coordinate with Corporate HSSEQ to ensure alignment on processes, objectives and training content
Provide market insight and HSSEQ status to the Corporate team
Deliver new HSSEQ initiatives from corporate
Provide trend analysis on Safety compliance across the projects
Quality controls information derived from EHS system (Gensuite) and reports any variances to actual
Reports on key safety metrics to the line managers and the Corporate team
Provide timely and accurate HSSEQ reports
Build the team, optimising talents and growing individuals
Manage the performance of the team
Develop and maintain teamwork among all teams promoting the sharing of ideas and best practice
Report non-compliance cases and initiate actions as per ‘Managing Capability and Discipline Concerns Policy’
Requirements: Qualification and Skill
Bachelor’s degree or professional qualification in Safety or Environment
Minimum of 7 years’ management level experience in Health and Safety
Experience in business process analysis or improvement
Experience in risk and impact assessment
Experience in the waste management, aviation or oil & gas industry
Fluent in English and French
Lead Audit Certification in current year version of Quality, Health & Safety and Environment Management Systems highly advantageous
Wide knowledge of Environment Services industry highly desirable
