Gauteng, GautengReference Number: 401 1806 MHU Job Description:The Group Reporting Accountant reports directly into the Group Reporting Manager and indirectly the Group Financial Manager. The main duties are: Assist in preparation of group consolidation; Implementation of group accounting policies; Provide technical accounting advice. Responsibilities:Consolidation of monthly actual, forecast and annual budgets for the Group.Preparation of the monthly performance, forecast and annual budget reporting to the executive committee and board of directors.Assisting in preparation for the reporting of interim and year-end financial results (IFRS), including compilation of the financial sections of the integrated report.Ad-hoc reporting and analysis to meet the requirements of senior management.Various Group wide accounting projects relating to management reporting, Group policies, technical advice, statutory entity structuring and other accounting related initiatives from the Group Financial Manager and CFO.Development, enhancement and continuous improvement of the consolidation process, software and reporting requirements for Group and business needs.Various ad-hoc functions to assist the Group Reporting Manager, Group Financial Manager and CFODevelop and implement updated group accounting policies manual to comply with IFRS, Companies Act and JSE Listings Requirements.Preparation of accounting opinions, and maintenance of the accounting opinion database.Manage IFRS implementation projects.Maintenance and distribution of financial reporting frameworks and templates, including instructions for completion.Oversee technical accounting standards – both new and existing accounting standardsClose interaction with auditors on complex accounting issuesProviding accounting opinions and advice in compliance with IFRS to stakeholders.Present IFRS training within the group.Provide specialist IFRS advice and support to stakeholders.Preparation of technical accounting content for a quarterly communication distributed to the internal finance community Requirements: Qualification and SkillMatric / Grade 12 or NQF equivalent.CA (SA).Minimum of 2 – 4 years working experience.Automated consolidation system experience (Hyperion, SAP BPC, Cognos) would be an advantage.Academic articles are highly advantageous.IFRS 9, IFRS 15, IFRS 16 & IFRS 17 experience is essential.Excellent, current knowledge of IFRS, JSE requirements and modern reporting practice.Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially ExcelSelf-motivated, ability to work under pressure, strong communication skills, deadline driven, attention to detailMust have complex consolidation experience and must be able to and has experience with building efficiencies, building processes and developing group accounting policies. Must have consolidation and technical accounting experience Benefits and Contractual information:Permanent role
