Polokwane, LimpopoCommunity Liaison Officer (SLP / Local / Communities / Engagement / Mining) – Limpopo Reference Number: 97 1904 RR Job Description:Our client a JSE listed mining company has an opportunity for a Community Liaison Officer, the incumbent would need to hit the ground running with the community and Mine requirements. Responsibilities:To assume responsibility for and use its best endeavors to ensure that the Company maintains at all time a good relationship with its Local Community/ies;To establish or maintain appropriate liaison and communication channels with Local Community/ies and/or any recognised representative/s and reach out to of all Local Communities and/or their representatives at least once a week;To render generally such assistance to the Company as may be necessary or reasonable in achieving the Company’s objectives in regard to the Local Community/ies;To develop and maintain, on an on-going basis, good working relations in order to secure excellent labour relations with the current and potential workforce within the Local Community/ies;To render such other information services and public relations assistance as may reasonably be required by the Company from time to time in connection with the Local Community/ies;The incumbent will provide office and database administration services to the SLP department including the compilation of reports as directed by the SLP Coordinator;Provide a primary communication link between community stakeholders and the mine with respect to Socio-economic development projects and the mines impact on host communities;To ensure the development of a sound, co-operative and proactive relationship between the Companyand any relevant regulatory authorities in respect of all matters affecting the Company’s rights andinterests in its Project/s and/or any Local Community/ies;To keep account of every grievance communicated by any Local Community in a logbook, includingdetails of: The date; The issue; The particulars of the member of the Local Community who submitted such grievance; and Updates on means and procedures implemented to address the grievance.To produce the above logbook as soon as reasonably possible but no later than 48 hours after being requested to do so by the Company;To notify the Company as soon as reasonably possible should there by an emergency situation with any Local Community that may jeopardize the successful implementation of any Project;Pursue ideas that will uplift the local community/ies; andKeep community costs low whilst adhering to the allocated budget.
