Job Description

Reporting directly to the Head of Events, this critical position will be principally charged with managing the league caravan model.

This role will be responsible for the movement of people, equipment and other materials across the diverse African continent. This position will oversee logistical planning and vendor relationship management year-round, ensuring that players, team staff, equipment and other pertinent materials are delivered to the right location on time and within budget.

Responsibilities:

Through management of a travel agency, ensure the timely movement of 200+ players, team staff and equipment from one market to another across the continent on a weekly basis

Planning, execution and post-season after action of all logistics required to move the caravan setup every weekend for 3 months across the African continent

Planning and execution of goods and people immigration and customs clearance

Build relationships with government officials in all countries related to the smooth clearance of goods and people across borders

Management, storage, replacement and refurbishment of all caravan inventory

Manage VISA/immigration issues

Required Skills

Expert project management skills, adhering to deadlines

Problem solving skills

Excellent communication, social and analytical skills

Broad knowledge of various African markets

Knowledge of inventory management systems

Experience Needed:

A minimum of 10 years’ experience in a logistics role

Record of successful distribution and logistics management

Prior experience managing vendors/agencies and budgets required

Some prior experience in crisis management

Educational Background Required:

Bachelor’s degree – supply chain or related
