British High Commission CFPs: Promoting & Protecting Freedom of Religion or Belief

The British High Commission (BHC) Kuala Lumpur is inviting project proposals which are focused on promoting and protecting Freedom of Religion or Belief (FoRB).
The UK is committed to standing up for the freedom of people of all religions to practice their beliefs in peace and safety. They work around the globe driving international efforts to build more cohesive, tolerant and peaceful societies, where people of all faiths and none are treated equally.
Outcomes
They are particularly interested in project proposals that aim to deliver one or more of the following outcomes:
- Increased understanding through evidenced assessment of the challenges and threats to FoRB in Malaysia.
- Strategic cooperation between all stakeholders on FoRB issues (including faith groups, civil society, political parties and government)
- Measurable progress towards an improvement in religious tolerance and respect for FoRB, with particular focus on conservative voices and youth.
Funding Information
- Projects to run from August 2018 to February 2019, with no expectation of funding beyond this period.
- Minimum budget limit: £10,000
- Maximum budget limit: £50,000
Criteria
Bids will be assessed against the following criteria:
- alignment with the above mentioned thematic priorities and outcomes
- outcomes are achievable within the funding period
- project design includes clear monitoring and evaluation procedures
- sustainability demonstrating that project benefits continue after the funding ends
- risk and financial accountability procedures
- the organisation’s safeguarding policies that ensure protection of beneficiaries
- overall value for money
