Key accountabilities

Support accurate and compliant accounting and reporting for all key processes including Assets, cost allocation, inventory accounting, working capital/accruals in accordance with BP Accounting and Reporting Requirements
Ensure that all financial transactions are in conformity with their relevant control processes
Support the delivery transactional accounting for projects, support business activities, maintain records and assure accuracy of received data for booking
Manage relationship with functions for ARC related matters, and support business agenda as appropriate
Support efforts to improve the overall control and business processes within country
Ensure compliance with Senegalese Financial Reporting requirements
Support tax function in preparation and filing of Senegalese tax returns
Support the activity to respond to JV and Partner auditor’s request, ensuring that all relevant supporting documentation in provided for the resolution of audit exceptions
Define and manage DofA for business and process within Senegal in conformity with BP Requirements.
Support delivery of License Contract Management.
Provision of Planning and management Information on actual and forecast costs to support management of plan & budgets.

Essential Education

Degree level education or equivalent experience.

Essential experience and job requirements

Open to Senegalese Nationals Only
Excellent understanding of key financial systems
Good understanding of control process and requirements in relation to the Financial management systems
Good business awareness and understanding of business arrangements
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Knowledge of Upstream oil & gas business and Production Sharing Contracts
Looks for opportunities for performance improvement before being asked
Completes work independently without reminders or constant supervision
Readily assimilates information and instructions, and listens and understands well.

Desirable criteria and qualifications

Accounting qualification e.g. ACMA, ACCA, ACA, or CPA
