BitPesa is hiring a Junior Expansion Associate.

Job Summary

As Junior Expansion Associate, your main objective is to support the expansion, maintenance and optimization of partnerships with local banks, FinTechs and telcos to grow BitPesa key metrics such as market ROI, revenue growth, customer satisfaction, cost of sales reduction and other operational efficiency indicator(s). This is a full-time position, based in Dakar, Sénégal.

Responsibilities

Maintain existing payment infrastructure: execute tasks related to maintain “high-functioning” infrastructure (trouble-shooting, daily operations, infrastructure audits)
Conduct research and analysis to identify market opportunities / potential infrastructure partners in West Africa
Support the development of strong relationships with global & regional banks / telcos / payment processors in West Africa (pitch decks, bank accounts opening…)
Represent BitPesa during relevant networking events / workshops with FinTechs, banks and telcos
Provide assistance in defining regional roadmap of infrastructure maintenance, optimisation and expansion projects in alignment with revenue, cost of sales, customer satisfaction and operational efficiency metrics
Work closely with internal Product, Engineering, Legal, Compliance, Sales, Finance and Treasury teams
Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in business administration, finance or related field from a top-tier university
1-2 years work experience in relevant industries (banking / telco / payments) and / or environment (startup / consulting)
Ability to learn fast, organize complex information and being comfortable with uncertainty
Goal oriented, self-motivated and confident, thorough and determined
Excellent organizational, project management, time management, communication and presentation skills
A strong and flexible work ethic with a can-do attitude
Experience working for fast-growth, rapidly-scaling companies is a plus
Perfect fluency in French and English
Proficiency with Powerpoint, Excel, G-Suite
