Bahamas: Lyford Cay Foundation’s Community Grants for Non-profit Organizations and Community Groups
Deadline: 15 February 2020
The Lyford Cay Foundations is seeking applications for its Community Grants to the local non-profit community who work tirelessly to help those most in need throughout The Bahamas.
As one of the few grant making organisations in the country, they invest in initiatives that provide access to traditional and diverse opportunities for learning in the arts, sports, environmental awareness, health-related issues and economic and human resource development.
In 1969, two members of the Lyford Cay Club, Robert Blum and William Robbins, formed ‘The American Friends of The Bahamas’, a non-profit public charity with tax-exempt status under the US Internal Revenue code. Its purpose was to create an effective vehicle for the distribution of philanthropic gifts within The Bahamas. In 1979, the name of the organisation was changed to Lyford Cay Foundation, Inc.
The Canadian Lyford Cay Foundation, a Canadian non-profit charity, was established in 1977.
