AWDF inviting Great Ideas for 16 Days Campaigns focused on African Women’s Rights in the Workplace

To commemorate the 16 Days of Activism to end Gender-based violence this year, the African Women’s Development Fund (AWDF) is awarding grants to women’s rights organisations raising awareness, building campaigns and mobilizing women workers to demand for their rights and an end to violence in the world of work.

AWDF will therefore, support women’s rights organisations and groups employing innovative approaches, methodologies, tools and resources that show positive results in preventing and responding to violence against women and girls in the world of work.

AWDF is interested to hear great ideas for 16 Days campaigns focused on African women’s rights in the workplace.

Funding Information

Let AWDF know how applicants plan to use $2000 to run an innovative event, campaign or series of activities to address violence against women and girls in the world of work!

Eligibility Criteria

  • In keeping with AWDF’s mandate, AWDF accept applications from African women’s organisations, and particularly encourage worker-led initiatives to apply.
  • AWDF is particularly interested to hear from African women’s organisations mobilizing for the protection of women’s rights and an end to violence in the informal economy and in domestic work.
  • Interested small sized women’s rights organisations should send in their proposal using the AWDF online portal.
  • The applicant must also complete and include a financial management assessment form and an outcome form that is provided in the portal.
