Australia Council for the Arts announces International Engagement Fund

The Australia Council for the Arts is pleased to announce the International Engagement Fund to support the Australian arts, cultural and creative sectors to explore opportunities to engage internationally, in the wake of unprecedented global change and disruption.
The vision is for Australian arts, culture and creativity to be thriving and to be known globally for its innovation, sustainability, complexity and diversity. This fund prioritises remote, online and hybrid modes of cross-border engagement while international travel is restricted.
This fund will prioritise support online and hybrid modes of delivery up to 30 June 2022. Applications involving travel must consider the Australian Government’s travel advice.
Activities
Below are some examples of activities that you may consider in relation to your request and the amounts available:
Research, Experimentation, Development and Prototyping
Creative and career development
Collaborations and co-productions (smaller scale)
Market development (individuals and groups)
Participation and networking at meetings / market platforms
Peer exchange and knowledge sharing
Professional investments
Research and scoping.
Action and New Models
Collabor ations and co-productions (larger scale)
Market development (sole trader, group, organizations)
New models – smart touring (concept, hybrid, slow, sustainable)
Presentation and profiling opportunities such as tours, performances, exhibitions, etc or at meetings / market platforms
Reciprocal activities
Self-directed residencies, labs and peer exchange models.
Funding Information
Research, Experimentation, Development and Prototyping: $5,000 – $15,00
Action and New Models: $15,001 – $30,000
Eligibility Criteria
Individuals, groups or organisations can apply to this fund:
Individuals must be an Australian citizen or an Australian permanent resident, and a practicing artist or industry professional.
Groups can be made up of Australian and international artists or arts professionals, however the contact person for group applications must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident.
International organisations are encouraged to apply, provided that the project that they are proposing directly engages Australian artists or the Australian arts sector.
The Council strongly encourage applications from diverse artists and organisations including people who identify as First Nations, people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, people with disability, people who are d/Deaf and hard of hearing, and people living in regional and remote areas.
Eligible art forms include First Nations Arts and Culture, Community Arts and Cultural Development (CACD), Dance, Emerging and Experimental Arts (EEA), Literature, Music, Theatre, Visual Arts and Multi-Art Form.
