Apply for Play for Equity Fund (4th Round)
Deadline: 11-Nov-2025
The fourth round of the Play for Equity Fund offers an exciting chance for community-based organisations, groups and individuals in the Pacific to access support for projects that advance gender and disability justice through sport and play.
With funding available to both registered and unregistered entities, as well as individuals over 18 of diverse identities—including people with disabilities—the program encourages wide participation and bold ideas that challenge the status quo.
Applicants are asked to submit a short video pitch of three to five minutes outlining the barrier they seek to address, how they will use the funding and the impact they aim to achieve in advancing equity. The video may be in any language, including sign language, and applicants with limited technological access are encouraged to reach out for assistance. The inclusive nature of the application process reflects the spirit of the fund, aiming to reduce barriers to participation and support creative, grassroots solutions.
Approved projects may receive up to A$15,000 for groups or A$8,000 for individuals, with an additional guideline advising applicants not to request more than half of their annual organisational income. Where a bank account is required, alternatives can be discussed for those who may face constraints receiving international transfers. The expectation is that successful applicants will be notified by January 2026 and funding distributed by March, with project completion and reporting slated for mid-2026.
This is a timely opportunity for actors in the Pacific region—from community sports organisations to activists and collectives—to bring innovative ideas to life, blending sport and play with social change. By engaging with this fund, contributors can harness the power of movement to build more inclusive, equitable and vibrant communities.
