The SBI Foundation is accepting applications for the Wildlife Conservation Program.

Thematic Area
  • Wildlife Conservation
    • Sub-thematic Areas: (Project proposal may include one or more of the respective sub-thematic areas.)
      • Species Conservation: 
        • Conservation project proposals are expected for the species of importance under endangered or threatened categories as mentioned in the Red List prepared by International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) and species specifically mentioned in the India’s WildlifeAction Plan and The Wildlife (Protection)Act, 1972.
      • Infrastructural Support: 
        • Need based infrastructure support for conservation activities including equipment for handholding field teams and front line personnels of the Department of Forests and Wildlife.
      • Human-Wildlife Conflict Mitigation: 
        • Potential support areas would be species-specific region-specific science based comprehensive mitigation measures
Funding Information
  • SBI Foundation hereby invites proposals seeking funding under SBIF CONSERW: for wildlife conservation in India. The budget for a proposal should be in the range of Rs.1.00 Cr to Rs. 5.00 Cr. for a support period ranging from 2 to 3 years.
Eligibility Criteria
  • The NGOs applying in the RFP should have:
    • Minimum 5 years of experience in successfully implementing CSR projects in the thematic area of wildlife conservation.
    • A dedicated team for conservation projects, comprising of environmentalists, ecologists, biologists, etc.
    • Expertise in the specific wildlife species and ecosystems relevant to the project, including knowledge of local flora and fauna, and threats to biodiversity
    • A strong presence in the proposed landscape,
    • Established relationships and good rapport with local communities, government agencies, and other stakeholders.
    • Any Sub-letting, sub-contracting and/or outsourcing of the activities shall not be allowed.
