Copyright Agency is accepting applications for its Cultural Fund to provide support to organisations for projects that deliver opportunities for authors, journalists, artists and key industry stakeholders in the writing, publishing, education, and visual arts sectors.

The agency also offer grants to leading organisations to help build literacy skills for children and young adults.

From 2018, the Cultural Fund will enhance opportunities for industry partnerships and support for key national writers’ festivals.

Types of Activities

Activities supported include:

• Skills development and professional development opportunities for emerging creators and people working in publishing
• Publishers, literary magazines and journals
• Professional mentorships, residencies, internships
• Conferences, art book fairs, symposia
• Educational and cultural institutions
• Partnerships with major national writers’ festivals
• Awards and prizes for writers and visual artists
• Writing, publishing and visual arts industry associations
• Theatre companies to provide opportunities for playwrights
• Literary and literacy-building organisations
• Visual arts organisations
• Indigenous-led organisations to deliver projects to benefit Indigenous creators
• National Teacher Associations
• Projects to enhance the Copyright Agency’s Reading Australia

Eligibility Criteria

• Legally constituted organisations and incorporated associations may apply.
• Individuals or sole traders are not eligible to apply for these grants.
• Applicants may only submit one application per round to the Cultural Fund.
• Applicants must have acquitted any overdue Cultural Fund grants to be eligible for further funding.
