APM Terminals operates one of the world’s most comprehensive port and integrated inland service networks and continues investing in new business opportunities as well as upgrading current facilities. Project Execution (PE) is the function responsible for developing and implementing the strategy for project implementations, governance and standards to be used in the APM Terminals wide organization and is directly responsible for large CAPEX driven projects including greenfields, major expansion as well as upgrades and retrofits to existing facilities.
We will soon kick off significant capital expansion project at our existing operation in Tangier, Morocco. The goal of the project is to both grow the existing container terminal business for APM Terminals TM2 as well as expand the business value and proposition for entire West Med. We are looking for Technical Leader of the project who will lead, drive and be accountable for all technical (construction, equipment, automation, IT) aspects of the project.

Key responsibilities• Drive and lead the end to end construction, execution and delivery of all the physical assets (construction, equipment, IT, automation) in the project – in line with the project’s scope, timeline, budget and objectives.• Engage closely with the Project Manager, Integration Lead and Terminal COO to ensure functional requirements will be met for successful volume testing and go-live; and to ensure successful handover of assets and systems to Operations.• Directly manage all contractors and vendors related to building the project’s physical assets and IT/automation systems.• Within the defined scope, manage all changes to the project scope, schedule, budget and risks.• Provide direction and leadership to the asset delivery teams. Promote Maersk culture, build and maintain high engagement, be a role model of Maersk culture and leadership.• Together with the Project Manager, actively drive and promote safety culture, ensure all safety procedures are implemented and followed on.• Act as primary point of contact and be responsible for terminal design and technical/system interfaces, works supervision and progress control, and its full requirements to operate (the execution and delivery of works is construction, equipment, automation and IT partners’ responsibility).• Oversee the interfaces, constructability, value engineering and peer review processes for the project.• Work closely with Project Controls Lead to manage the construction and delivery of equipment, project IT and automation in a forward-looking manner.• Implement contract management standards based on the construction, equipment, automation and IT contracts.• Ensure project teams are always in close collaboration and alignment with the existing terminal organization teams to deliver the project and minimize disruption to existing operations. Ensure project and terminal is always aligned and work as one big team, collaboration is key to success!• Ensure, together with the authority compliance / permit team, that all necessary permits and approvals (planning approvals, environmental permits, construction permits, etc) are in place for the timely delivery of the project.• Maintain high technical standards and pioneer new techniques for improved project management.• Maintain a forward looking risk-register and subsequent mitigation strategies.• Ensure consistent project reporting and transparency with all stakeholders. Clear communication within and from the site delivery team.• Actively promote safety and assume a visible leadership role on the construction site.• Drive that all staff maintain full awareness of safety as a priority.
We are looking for
• You should have managed various large scale (>100 mio EUR), multi-disciplinary, technology-heavy construction projects with multiple reports and with clear responsibility on achieving safety, time and budget targets. The relevant projects to include a successful track record of projects with significant system and/or automation components.• Extensive Project Management experience and exposure to Project Controls.• Minimum 15 years of experience in heavy asset building / project related environment.• Experience in an international assignment at a leadership level.• Requires excellent leadership skills, including planning, organizing, and directing work.• Role model for collaboration, cooperation and teamwork combined with effective negotiation and conflict resolution skills.• Requires exceptional time management, due to fast-moving, demanding work environment.• Sensitive to cultural diversity and experience in a multicultural environment, in regard to employees, local authorities and other stakeholders.• Able to exercise discretion and good judgment, with the ability to understand the effect of decisions on people and the company.• Advanced verbal and written communications skills in English. Knowledge of French would be an advantage.POSTULER
