Opportunité

We are looking for a Site Manager for our New Depot in Cato Ridge, responsible for this multi-carrier depot and rail operations whilst driving business performance.

– This facility has full and empty container storage, a rail siding, maintenance workshop, particularly focused on Reefer containers. The operation predominantly provides a service to the shipping lines as well as clearing agents, transporters and cargo owners.

– This position is tactical and strategic in nature, with specific focus on driving performance, taking accountability for operational effectiveness and for commercial growth.

Key Responsibilities

This position is accountable for leading, developing and maintaining operational effectiveness through the minimization of costs whilst providing excellent customer service, and maintaining high staff morale.

Operations

Responsible for the management of multi-dimensional business operations effectiveness and business continuity plans.

On a daily/weekly basis review operational reports and sign-off on discrepancies.

Manage operational KPI’s ensuring that high service levels are maintained.

Finance

Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports and submit to Finance Department. Compile Annual Budgets with regards to revenue, cost and business expectations.

Compile and present compelling business cases to the Area Depot Manager in respect of CAPEX purchases.

Full accountability for the Profit & Loss of the site. Effective management of budget and expenditure, ensuring that the branch achieves a profit year on year.

Customer

Identify and pursue new business opportunities with assistance from Commercial team.

Implement SLA’s with key clients and monitor compliance on a daily/weekly and monthly basis.

Key account management to include customer relationship management.

HSSE & Risk

Recognize and respond to the needs of the business in respect of HSSE and risk management, ensuring that preventative measures are in place.

Implement and maintain operational legal compliance in respect of Health, Safety, Security and Environment.

Who we are looking for

Appropriate tertiary qualification, preferably in logistics.

At least 5 years’ experience in Branch Management capacity.

Excellent knowledge of logistics & transport/rail/trucking operations.

Experience with Reefer containers is advantageous.

Possess effective analytical, people, reporting and problem-solving skills.

Financial acumen.

Has a proactive approach to business development.

High energy levels and must possess a passion for logistics and people.

Requires ability to use computerized operation software system(s).

Has full knowledge of international standards of safe working practices within the industry as well as occupational health and safety laws.
