Job description

The incumbent works in the Facility Management section of the Embassy. Employed as a Painter/plasterer carrying out scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and painting repair work, all aspects of the painting/plastering trades as well as decorative painting techniques throughout the Embassy Compound and all Government Owned and Leased residential properties.

Job requirements

• At least three years of experience as skilled painter is required
• Completion of elementary school is required.
• Excellent painting, finishing and artistic skills and experience.
• An ability to understand the production designer, art department and director’s creative vision for the project, and to communicate these concepts and ideals with the team.
• Great understanding of color, paint and paint mediums and their effect on each other.
• Strong knowledge of art history and finishes from different cultures and periods.
• Ability to research and source required materials and planning to ensure the right materials are available within budget and schedule.
• Great people and interpersonal skills in managing, assessing, and intervening as part of a team. Ability to direct and motivate crew.
• Strong knowledge and awareness of health and safety regulations and practices.
• Knowledge on environmental regulations pertaining to disposal of paints, solvents and hazardous operations, e.g. sandblasting, lead paint removal, etc.
• Must be able to operate spray guns, both electric and air. Excellent painting, finishing and artistic skills and experience. Great understanding of color, paint and paint mediums and their effect on each other.
