The Alpha Gamma Delta Foundation is excited to announce the Fighting Hunger Grants.

The Alpha Gamma Delta Foundation proudly supports the philanthropic focus of Alpha Gamma Delta—fighting hunger.

The Foundation provides grants to non-profit organizations throughout the United States and Canada who fight hunger in their communities. Grantable programs may include, but are not limited to local food pantries, food banks, meal assistance programs for children, families, seniors and more.

Strategic Areas
  • Grants are focused in three strategic areas:
    • Fighting hunger through direct food assistance and/or food distribution in communities
    • Food rescue in communities
    • Nutrition education related to food assistance in communities
Funding Information
  • Grants can be awarded up to $10,000 per program or project. The Alpha Gamma Delta Foundation receives approximately 120 completed applications per grant cycle. Due to the finite resources of the Alpha Gamma Delta Foundation, the average grant recipient receives $5,000.
Eligibility Criteria
  • Grant recipients must be non-profit U.S. 501(c)(3)/Canadian NPO organizations whose mission is related to fighting hunger, food rescue, addressing food insecurity, providing hunger relief in local communities and/or nutritional education as it relates to food assistance.
  • Grant recipients must provide clear program/project goals, budget, timeline and additional information supporting proof of program/project viability.
  • Grant applicants must provide a U.S. Form 990/Canadian Form T3010 within the appropriate section(s) of the application.
Selection Criteria
  • Grants may be awarded on the following criteria, which includes but is not limited to:
    • Are a local affiliate of recognized Alpha Gamma Delta national partners
    • Have a collaborative volunteer relationship with a local Alpha Gamma Delta collegiate chapter and/or alumnae chapter/club in their community
    • Mission or vision of grantee organization
    • Demonstrated good financial standing as indicated by its most recent U.S. Form 990/Canadian Form T3010
    • Organizational reports indicate at least six (6) months of operational reserves
    • Target populations and geographical areas served Purpose of program/project
    • Innovative programs/projects or new initiatives
    • Direct results of program/project and measurement tools utilized
    • Explanation of program/project sustainability over time
Ineligible
  • Grants are not awarded to:
    • Organizations based or programs conducted outside of the United States or Canada
    • Individuals, including scholarships, loans or sponsorships
    • Organizations who limit services to members of one religious group or whose services propagate a religious faith or creed
    • Political organizations and those having the primary purpose of influencing the legislation or promotion of an ideological view.
