CARING – INNOVATING – TOGETHER: Since its creation in 2009, ALIMA has treated more than 3 million patients. Today ALIMA works in 10 countries in Western and Central Africa. In 2018 we plan to work in 41 projects including 10 research projects focusing on malnutrition, Ebola and Lassa fever. All of these projects will support national health authorities through more than 320 health facilities (including 28 hospitals and 294 health facilities). Alima intervenes in response to humanitarian crises and patients are at the heart of all our actions. We work in partnership whenever possible to ensure that our patients benefit from the best and most relevant expertise wherever it is, whether within their own country or in the rest of the world. BACKGROUND ALIMA started SRH activities in Monguno MCH since 2017, and have been running BEMONC and CEMONC activities in Monguno MCH, then in both MCH and general hospital. For BEMONC activities, ALIMA is operating in 2 IDPs camps clinic and in MCH. For CEMONC activities including C-Section and blood transfusion, ALIMA started first in MCH then since April 2019 we are operating in general hospital. LOCATIONS
MISSION AND MAIN ACTIVITIES TO Ensure the proper functioning of the reproductive health activities under his/her responsibility in Monguno project where ALIMA is running medical activities. Defining and implementing universal protocols and procedures; guaranteeing the quality of healthcare in order to improve health conditions of the target population The SRH activities manager will assist the SRH team to set up and follow SOPs in all units and OT and follow universal standard precautions during and after procedures for effective infection control. The expert will assist the team to reduce maternal and neonatal morbidity and mortality in Monguno, this will be achieved by involving the community and our TBAs network to increase the awareness of good health care practices for our beneficiaries He/She reports to the Medical Referent He/She supervises the national midwives He/She collaborates with others services (OPD/OTP/ITFC/IPD/outreach/epidemic surveillance) and department (Logistic & Administration) Main responsibilities:
[1] BEmONC = basic emergency obstetric and neonatal care = Administration of antibiotics, oxytocics, anticonvulsants, manual removal of the placenta, removal of retained products following abortion, assisted vaginal delivery, preferably with vacuum extractor and newborn care including neonatal resuscitation.
