At Africa GreenTec, we collect transactional and telemetry data at scale. Once collected, we analyse it to carry out maintenance, inform business decisions and generally improve our products. We want to expand our internal IT capacity and are looking for a junior data engineer. Are you looking for meaningful work? Then we would love to hear from you! Tasks: Together with our engineering team, you will build and maintain our data pipelines, currently based on this stack: • Modbus RTU & TCP • Linux • MQTT, REST, Websocket, Apache Avro • Apache Beam/Hop/NiFi • GCS, BigQuery, PostgreSQL, Clickhouse, Timescale DB • Data Studio, Metabase, Grafana Requirements: • Interest in sustainable development • A few years experience developing software in languages like Java, Go or Python • Ideally you have a quantitative background, with a good grounding in statistical methods • Organised, learn and work independently • Self-motivated, self-starter and curious • English mandatory, German or French a big plus What’s more to say: We are looking for you to work full-time, either locally in Dakar, Senegal or remotely in UTC ±2. You will be employed by our Senegalese subsidiary.
