ACF recruits 01 Deputy Country Director Support

Country: Sierra Leone, based in Freetown

Context:

Action Against Hunger established its presence in both Liberia and Sierra Leone in 1991 during the Civil War and since then has been operational in the two countries by implementing various humanitarian and development programmes related to health, nutrition, food security/livelihoods and advocacy geared towards the reduction of the prevalence rates of under-nutrition in both countries. Since January 2018, the two countries have been clustered/merged and now operating under a single management structure. Currently, Action Against Hunger has over 100 staff and partner organizations spread across various districts and counties in both Liberia and Sierra Leone. The coordination office is in Freetown, Sierra Leone overseeing the operations in Monrovia’s Office, Moyamba Field Office and Wester Areas.

Both countries are quite peaceful and the security situation relatively remains quite and calm

Length of contract: 12 month, starting on 15 September 2019.

The position:

Under the supervision of the Country Director,  you will be responsible to ensure the overall management of the Support functions (Logistics, Finance, HR). More precisely:

• You will ensure the oversight of financial and administrative activities to reduce risks and ensure compliance with AAH’s, donors’ and GoSL rules. S/He supervises the Support functions department and ensure the proper recording, documentation, control, monitoring and reporting of financial, administrative, HR and logistics operations.
• You will be responsible for the provision of effective logistics, human resources, admin and IT services to all AAH programs in Sierra Leone and Liberia

Do you fit with the position?

You hold a Master degree in accounting, Finance or business management with previous experience of managing the support functions in a humanitarian or development context. You should also have strong leadership and capacity building skills.  You are  used to work with donor’s regulation and policies. As a experiences manager, you  are able to take initiatives and build the capacity of others.

Experience working with/through local partners is a plus.

Action Against Hunger’s experience will be considered an asset.

Experience working in Liberia and Sierra Leone is a plus.

You are fluent in English.

Status: Short-term contract, provided by ACF according to the French legislation.

Remuneration and benefits :

• Monthly gross salary from 1600€ to 1975€ upon experience.
• Per diem and living allowance: 470 € (cf eurocost) net, field paid.
• + 16% of monthly gross salary as reimbursement of retirement insurance for non-French citizen.
• + Child allowance, limited to 5 children.

Transportation and accommodation:

• Coverage of transportation costs to and in the mission.
• Individual room in guesthouse covered

Medical coverage: 100% coverage of medical expenses + repatriation insurance.

Leaves and RnR:

• 25 days of paid leaves per year.
• + 20 RnR per year.
• + 215 € at each RnR period
• Coverage of the transportation expenses to the RnR area of reference.

Training :

• Free and unlimited access to the certifying e-learning platform Crossknowledge ©.
• Technical trainings at HQ or regional level (averagely 1 per year).
• Intermission Workshop once a year.
• Participation to external trainings costs upon eligibility of the request.
