Access to Justice, Security and Human Rights Strengthening Program – South Sudan

Deadline: 29-Feb-2024The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) has announced a call for proposals from civil society organizations (CSOs) including NNGOs and CBOs for application of Small Grants to Raise Awareness on the Jurisdiction, Court Processes, and Legal Remedies of the GBV and Juvenile Court in Juba.

To improve public knowledge on GBV and Juvenile Justice issues and the work of the GBV and Juvenile Courts in South Sudan, UNDP is seeking two competent and reputable CSOs or NNGOs or CBOs to conduct community outreaches and radio outreaches in form of talk shows, jingles, dramas, public service announcements (PSA) messages etcetera. The outreach topics will be developed by the CSOs or NNGOs or CBOs in collaboration with UNDP and the Judiciary.Objectives

The main objective of the grant is to identify two CSOs or NNGOs or CBOs with operational presence and capacity in Juba to create awareness and enhance information dissemination on access to the GBV and Juvenile courts in Juba.

Funding Information

The budget should be detailed, complete, rational, and realistic, and must not exceed the equivalent of USD$ 15,000.00.

Project Duration

The project duration is four (4) months.

Deliverables

CSOs are encouraged to develop their own expected results based on their analysis of the needs and particularities of the context and problems. The expected results may include the following:

• Enhanced public knowledge of over 1,000,000 people on the jurisdiction of the GBV and Juvenile Court, court processes for GBV survivors and juvenile offenders, access to legal representation, and protection of the needs and rights of GBV survivors and juveniles, and other key related topics.Increased uptake of cases at the GBV and Juvenile Court by 5% because of the awareness.Strengthened legal empowerment of women and girls at risk of GBV, survivors of GBV, and communities in South Sudan to protect themselves from violence and combat GBV in all its forms.Increased advocacy for survivors of GBV and children’s access to justice and legal remedies through the available legal framework and GBV and Juvenile Courts.

Eligibility Criteria

The CSOs/NNGOs/CBOs must meet the following criteria to be eligible for selection:

• Be legally registered as CSO/NNGO/CBO with the Ministry of Justice and Constitutional Affairs/ the Relief and Rehabilitation Commission and in possession of a valid registration certificate.The mandate and founding documents should be in line with the activities for which the fund is being sought.Have an established office in Juba and is experienced in implementing similar/related activities.Have a proven past record of managing grants of similar nature.
