The Opportunity

The International Accounting Manager has direct (hands-on) and indirect (managerial) responsibility for the accounting and reporting of international field operations at Abt Global, Inc. You are a key participant in the design, improvement and maintenance of procedures and systems. To be successful you will have an emphasis on accounting reconciliations and procedures improvement.

Core Responsibilities

• On a weekly basis review Project Operational reports (Remote Office Voucher (ROV)) for accuracy and completeness and upload transactions into Oracle.
• On a monthly basis, review results of accounts reconciliation and recommend corrective actions if any.
• Assist in the development of policies and procedures in the International Accounting Manual.
• Indirectly oversee and train Site Finance & Accounting Team in the successful execution of their responsibilities.
• Participate in quarterly and annual projects’ reviews and work with projects’ teams to incorporate performance goals and objectives. Provide regular feedback to the respective management teams of the projects on the performance of Site Finance & Accounting Team
• Assist in the identification and implementation of improvements and efficiencies in transaction processing and review.
• Participate in automation of accounting processes.
• Support other groups within the Controllership Croup
• Participate in project audits and clients’ financial reviews
• Foster team spirit and service orientation.

What We Value

• Bachelor’s Degree + Nine years of relevant experience, or Master’s Degree + Seven years of relevant experience
• Proficiency in French and English is required.
• Experience with USAID projects is preferred.
• Knowledge of QuickBooks Software is required
• Knowledge of foreign exchange accounting a plus
• Ability to interact, train, and communicate clearly with overseas staff on accounting and non-accounting matters.
• Demonstrated international accounting skills and experience required.
• Proficiency in working with and improving automated accounting processes.
• Familiarity with accounting in a US government-contracting environment
