The FWA Hub serves as a catalyst, advocate, and source for technical expertise to support accelerated scale-up of family planning in the FWA region.
Based in Dakar, the Project Director will provide vision, technical leadership, and overall management of a multi-country team to ensure the strategic, technical, and financial integrity of the TCI NextGen program—a demand-driven and cost-efficient reproductive health service delivery model targeting urban geographies in Francophone West Africa. This responsibility includes ensuring timely and cost-effective program implementation, operations and financial management, effective internal and external communications particularly with TCI NextGen Global Gates Institute and overseeing the preparation and submission of all program deliverables. The Project Director will prioritize engagement with external stakeholders particularly national and local governments, to increase investments in urban reproductive health and foster ownership for program implementation and results. S/he is responsible for achieving the program’s expected results and will serve as the primary point of contact for the project with IntraHealth HQ, TCI NextGen Global/ Gates Institute, the Local Governments/City Authorities, Ministries of Health, relevant government agencies, other BMGF implementing partners and local and international stakeholders engaged in Family Planning in the public and private sectors. S/he will lead and supervise project senior technical staff to ensure results and synergy, and interface with and advocate for TCI NextGen with the Ouagadougou Partnership Coordination Unit (OPCU), countries, donors, the private sector, and other implementing partners within the region.
