World Wildlife Fund (WWF) Professional

Development Grants 2017-18

Deadline: August 1, 2018

Apply now for the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) Professional Development Grants 2017-18. The PDGs provide support for mid-career conservationists to pursue short-term, non-degree training to upgrade their knowledge and skills. These trainings can include short courses, certificate trainings, or conferences among other training opportunities. The Professional Development Grants is one of the four core grant opportunities offered by WWF’s Russell E. Train Education for Nature Program on an annual basis.

Conservation experts are crucial to ensuring the long-term sustainability of WWF’s work in regions around the world. WWF’s Russell E. Train Education for Nature Program (EFN) works to increase the number of highly-qualified conservationists by investing in proven and potential leaders to gain the skills and knowledge they need to advance conservation in their home countries.

Since 1994, EFN has been an important funding source for thousands of individuals and organizations. Through fellowships and grants, EFN invests in the education and training of local conservation leaders because they believe these individuals are the key to protecting the natural resources that are needed and cherished where they live. To increase EFN’s impact and fill knowledge gaps on issues critical to WWF’s mission, EFN has aligned its programs with WWF’s six overarching goals centered on wildlife, climate, forests, oceans, food, and freshwater.
