PURPOSE OF POSITION
To facilitate implementation and monitoring of program operations including sponsorship by working with community based institutions and local partners
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
% Time Major Activities
10%
  1. Operational planning.
  • Participate in developing annual and monthly detailed implementation plans,
  • Develop weekly plans, including RC monitoring,
  • Mobilize communities, CBOs/FBOs and local government, share plans (implementation, monitoring and reporting tools) for review and validation.

  1. Quality Implementation
  • Read, understand and implement projects according to project documents (Project Design Document, logframe, budget and the business path ) for all key interventions
  • Work with Technical programme Officer, local partners, CBOs, government and FBOs to implement business path
  • Provide guidance to CBOs. local partners and FBOs in sponsorship service operations in the AP
  • In collaboration with community stakeholders, identify needs ,strengths, opportunities , weaknesses and risks to improve the wellbeing of children
  • Use community managed targeting criteria approach to contextualize criteria for inclusion of the most vulnerable children in all community engagement, planning and decision-making processes.
  • In collaboration with community stakeholders, identify most vulnerable children including RCs that need to be urgently supported
  • Assist the most vulnerable using projects interventions and stakeholders’ contribution
  • Integrate GIK resources to leverage on existing projects to achieve the wellbeing of children following partnership GIK standards.
  • Perform any other additional responsibility as assigned by your supervisor

  1. Monitoring and Reporting
  • Review and share children monitoring data with sponsorship business systems Assistant for quality and accuracy before entering them in the sponsorship system
  • Mobilize CBOs, local partners and local government to develop an integrated monitoring plan
  • Produce weekly reports and share with the supervisor
  • Monitor progress of planned activities in the assigned communities within the Area Programme
  • Work with TPOs and grant staff to produce AP quality and timely reports (monthly, semi-annual and annual) using appropriate templates
  • Share timely data with supervisor to update M&E Database,
  • Gather data, information, reports from Sponsorship Business Systems Assistant, share and follow up with CBOs, local partners for appropriate action.
  • Monitor sponsorship performance in line with child sponsorship standards and take appropriate actions
  • Build capacity of communities and partners for monitoring
  • Train communities volunteers and CBOs on changes stories collection techniques to take RCs photos and videos
  • Report any incident that might require management attention, natural hazard, security and any other.

  1. Improve AP level partnerships for child wellbeing
  • Train and coach CBOs/FBOs, volunteers on sponsorship basic standards, child monitoring standard and project models
  • Monitor and report activities implemented by CBOs and FBOs in partnership with World Vision.
  • Work with CBOs and partners, build their capacities on specific local advocacy and child protection issues as required by the context
  • Perform any other additional responsibility as assigned by your supervisor in alignment with the organizational policy
  1. Sponsorship
  • Mobilize partners for effective participation of children in the programme interventions geared towards child wellbeing
  • In collaboration with partners take collective actions for children not participating in programmes.
  • Lead community engagement process for child sponsorship
  • In collaboration with community and local partners develop local selection criteria for child registration.
  • Integrate Child Monitoring Standards in programme implementation
  • Participate in identification and assessment of potential partners for child wellbeing
  • Execute Gift Notification (GN) according to GN implementation framework.
  • Involve partners and community groups in defining and adapting child selection criteria.
  • Work with communities to shortlist the children who will be targeted in the programme
15% 6. Integration of cross cutting themes and empower world views

  • Ensure adherence to child protection policy, guidelines and protocols by partners, community volunteers, beneficiaries, CBOs/FBOs etc.
  • Implement and integrate cross cutting business paths as appropriate (Faith & Dev, gender, advocacy, peace building and child protection, environment, DRR and HIV)
  • Disaggregate data by gender and most vulnerable children
  • Mobilize communities for engagement and influence for behaviour change
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
-Bachelor of science Sc. in Environmental Sanitation and related fields
-3 years’ experience in the WASH Sector
-Technical Training qualifications required: CLTS, PHAST, CHAST and other Sanitation and hygiene promotion tools
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Experience:
-Good understanding of World Vision and development principles
-Ability to work in and contribute to team building environment.
-Ability to maintain performance expectations in diverse cultural contexts, psychologically stressful environments and physical hardship conditions with limited resources.
-Ability to maintain effective working relationships with staff and partners at all levels
-Ability to exhibit exemplary lifestyle as interpreted in specific local cultural context.
-Speaking and writing English as a second language
-Project management skills
-Community mobilization
-Practicing innovation and behavior change
-Knowledge in computer tools
-Building collaborative relationships with various partners
-Having a team work spirit.
-Ability of problem solving at AP level.
-Being child focused and having child protection competencies
-Having community and partners facilitation skills.
-Motorbike driving license is mandatory
Work Environment:
-The time of field work should be no less than 70% for RCs and activities monitoring.
-Travelling time should be no more than 5%
