PURPOSE OF POSITION:
Provide full time leadership and technical oversight in the delivery of “Provision for Essential Health Services Project” and to ensure improved health, nutrition and WASH for vulnerable children in Renk, Melut and Maban Counties.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
To direct and oversee implementation for (Provision for Essential Health Services Project – PESHP), ensuring that all strategic objectives are met through proper staffing, implementation and quality assurance.
Establish and maintain effective project reporting, evaluation, and communication systems. Submit timely accurate and professional reports that meet donor requirements.
Manage grant/project budget within approved spending levels and ensure accurate and timely financial reports to donors, and Zonal Supervisors and World Vision South Sudan (WVSS) national office.
To undertake line management responsibility of key project staff including a Deputy Project Manager, County Health Coordinator and MCH Coordinator.
To provide technical support to the State Ministry of Health and the County Health Departments.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Medical/ Clinical background (Medical Doctor, Nurse, Clinical Officer) and a Master’s Degree in Public.
Minimum of 8 years of experience implementing large integrated Maternal, Newborn and Child Health programs.
Budget management experience is a must.
A wide range of technical expertise, professional competence and relevant academic background in human capacity building in the health sector, with focus on maternal and child survival.
Project cycle management.
A good understanding of WASH and Nutrition Programming.
Should be eligible to work in South Sudan.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Experience:
Ability to plan, facilitate and lead Project reviews at County and State level.
Ability to communicate effectively WVI values and vision to external audiences.
Training Facilitator.
Ability to practice clinically and mentor local staff.
Work Environment/Travel:
Work environment: Field-based position, with physical hardship conditions and limited amenities.
Travel: Both local and international travels expected.
On call: 24 hours.
This is an international position.
