• Title : Communication & Reporting Assistant SC-5• Duration of the contract : 12 months renewable• Type of Contract : Service Contract• Grade : SC-5• Duty station : Brazzaville, Republic of Congo• Supervision : Under the supervision of the Communication Officer, will work collaboratively with the activity 4 manager. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive, performed within delegated authority):
As part of the ProManioc programme
Funded by the European Union and launched in September 2020, the ProManioc programme aims at strengthening the artisanal cassava value chain and food resilience in the Republic of Congo. Implemented in the Bouenza department for a period of two years, this program supports 500 cassava producers and 150 artisans who manufacture processing equipment. To highlight the EU’s commitment and raise awareness of cassava processing and consumption opportunities, WFP plans to publish a recipe book, educational materials for canteen workers and produce a series of short videos.
1.Liaise with vendors, videographer, graphic designers, relevant Sub-Offices and Procurement unit to support Communication officer in the implementation of the communication strategy plan of the programme. 2.Participate in the meetings of the Unit in charge of the programme and liaise with the Activity Manager to collect relevant information to be used in the communication and reporting activities. 3.Collate relevant internal and external information to support the Reports officer in the production of advocacy documents and strategic notes. 4.Support Communication officer in event planning in close collaboration with a variety of partners. 5.Support the Communications & Reporting Unit in any other daily task depends on the workload. Cross-cutting communications and other reporting activities :
1.Create Social Media Content (Twitter and Facebook) for WFP Congo’s accounts under the guidance of Communication officer 2.Collate relevant internal and external information to support Communication officer in the production of communication tools, press releases, etc 3.Liaise with all relevant Units to enhance WFP visibility in the field. 4.Offer support to all teams if needed in accessing WFP Multimedia Database, designing, and editing materials for a range of audiences and contexts, including on-site banners, reports, presentations, etc. 5.In view of the Annual Country Report (to be drafted during the second semester): support work to collect activity reports from different divisions, and to develop an overall plan of the activities implemented in 2020 and their results. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE :
Education : Completion of Secondary school in Journalism, Marketing, Communication is a must.
Advanced University degree in Journalism, Marketing, Communication, International Relations or Political Sciences or First University degree in relevant field with additional years of related work experience and/or training/courses is an asset.
Language : Fluency (level C) in French and English level (B). The understanding of one or two national languages is an asset.
Experience : At least 4-5 years of experience in producing communication activities, managing communication platforms, creating digital content, drafting reports and reaching out to a wide range of different stakeholders nationally and ideally internationally.
Knowledge & Skills
