Wallace Foundation Grants: Supporting New Zealand Arts and Artists

The Wallace Foundation is seeking applications for its Grants program to foster, maintain, promote and advance the education of creative arts.

Established by the Wallace Arts Trust, the Wallace Foundation is one of the largest private supporters of New Zealand arts and artists.

Funding Information

Most grants offered are of a value under $5,000 and this can include cash, in-kind support or an underwriting guarantee against loss.

Eligible Applicants

  • Emerging New Zealand artists whose work is highly likely to have a significant impact on the landscape of cross-disciplinary arts, performing arts or film
  • Established New Zealand artists whose work demonstrates significant development in their careers
  • Organisations that support and present the above and expand an audience for the arts in New Zealand

Criteria

  • Idea and Strategic Fit:
    • The Foundation will be looking at how closely the project aligns with one (or more) of the following:
      • How will the project encourage, recognize, or showcase New Zealand artists in their career?
      • How would an investment assist in the career development of New Zealand’s emerging artists?
      • How will the project expose New Zealanders to art or increase their enjoyment of the arts?
  • Viability:
    • Is it worthy?
    • Is the concept sound?
    • Are the people behind it credible?
    • Is the time frame reasonable?
    • Is the budget reasonable?
  • Evaluation:
    • Evidence that the project was delivered
    • Evidence that the Wallace Foundation was appropriately acknowledged
