The United Nations Academic Impact and MCN invite applications for the Millennium Fellowship 2018. The Millennium Fellowship convenes, challenges, and celebrates student leadership for UN goals on campuses worldwide. It is a semester-long leadership development program that happens on your campus.

United Nations Academic Impact (UNAI) has been working with academic institutions for seven years.  Their 17 years of combined experience enable us to uniquely support and elevate your leadership.

The program is free for accepted applicants. The priority application deadline for Millennium Fellows and Campus Directors is April 30, and final application deadline is July 15.  The program will run on campuses worldwide from mid-August to mid-November where cohorts of 8-20 Millennium Fellows have been selected.  Feedback and stories of student impact will be submitted by December 2018.

How it Works

The Millennium Fellowship takes place on campuses around the world. If you and peers on your campus are selected for the Millennium Fellowship, you will convene this mid-August to mid-November at least monthly on your own campus – building your capacity as a leader, the capacity of your Millennium Fellowship Project, and building community with peers on campus (and virtually with other Millennium Fellows around the world).

  • CONVENE: As part of a cohort of 8-20 Millennium Fellows on your campus, convene to learn from and challenge each other.
  • CHALLENGE: Develop a plan of action for your monthly sessions together. Meet to exchange best practices. And you could think bigger: organizing a campus-wide sustainability initiative or more.
  • CELEBRATE: When your Fellowship Hub Site meets the goals you made for yourselves, you will earn a certificate of recognition from United Nations Academic Impact and Millennium Campus Network.

Upon successful completion of the program, join the MCN Alumni Community and continue to have social impact.
