How can you make a difference
1. Objectives
 The overall objective of the consultancy is to equip communities with skills to support maternal, Infant and Young Child Feeding in Emergencies (MIYCF-e) focusing on parents and caregivers of children below the age of two years in food insecure districts of Hurungwe and Mutare and the urban and surrounding peri-urban areas of Harare and Bulawayo cities; and to provide C4D for development programming.
2. Methodology
Pre- and post-rapid communication for development assessment;
Communication strategy design, communication action plan, and M-E plan;
Mass communication and community engagement strategies implementation.
Monitoring, reporting, evaluation.
3.  Expected Outputs
– Compile an inception report showing in-depth understanding of the assignment;
–  Prepare C4D plan.
– Develop Public Service Announcements and Radio Spots for broadcasting.
– Provide field monitoring visits and provide technical assistance.

 All deliverables will have to meet expected quality and standards as assessed by the supervisor of the assignment. Should the consultant fail to deliver as per expected quality and standards, UNICEF reserves the right to amend the payouts accordingly, or to delay them until satisfactory submission has been received.
6. Consultancy Timeframe
 The consultancy assignment must be completed in 132 working days over a period of  6 months.
 7.  Consultancy Requirements
 The consultant is expected to come up with a costed budget for the deliverables above and should clearly state the daily rate for field visits.
NB: Consultant should be in the field for at least 3 days per month for six months.
 8. Supervision
The consultant will report to the C4D Specialist operationally. The overall and final supervisor will be the Chief of Communication.
9. Consultancy Classification
This is a junior level consultancy. Competitive market rates will apply.
To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…
University degree in the social/behavioral sciences, communication, public health or other relevant field;
Minimum two year of progressively responsible professional work experience in C4D Â and management of development programmes, with practical experience in application of communication planning processes to specific programmes and diverse settings (to be assessed through review of CV and reference check);
Good knowledge of English (to be assessed through the interview);
Strong interpersonal communication skills and ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships in a multicultural environment (to be assessed through the interview and reference check);
Ability to work autonomously and as a team member (to be assessed through the interview and the reference check);
Ability to work under pressure (to be assessed through the interview and the reference check);
Experience of working with UNICEF and/or other UN agencies is an asset.
11. Other Consultancy Costs and Payment Modalities
 Competitive market rates will apply and the consultant should submit an all-inclusive fee (lump sum) in his/her proposal.
 The Technical proposal is weighted at 75% and 25% for the Financial proposal

Completeness of the Financial Proposal (ensure that all costs, including professional fees, costs of travel and subsistence allowances are included in the price offered).
