The current UNICEF-Government of Zimbabwe Country Programme of Cooperation (2016-2020) aims to support Zimbabwe to sustain and build upon the gains achieved for children during the 2012-2015 Country Programme of Cooperation. The programme focuses on improving the quality of social services, increasing access to services, and helping to build national and sub-national capacities to provide low-cost, high-impact interventions for all children, especially the most vulnerable.

How can you make a difference?
The WASH Officer reports to the WASH Specialist (NO-3 level) under the guidance of  the Chief of WASH (P5). The WASH Officer provides technical, operational and  administrative assistance throughout the WASH programming process. The Officer prepares, manages and implements a variety of technical and administrative tasks, related to the development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the WASH output results of the country programme.
Summary of key functions/accountabilities:
Programme development and planning
Programme management, monitoring and delivery of results
Technical and operational support for programme implementation
Humanitarian WASH preparedness and response
Networking and partnership building
Innovation, knowledge management and capacity building

You qualify as an advocate for every child you will have:
An advanced university degree in one of the following fields is required: public health, social sciences, behavior change communication, civil, environmental or sanitary engineering or another relevant technical field.
Additional relevant post-graduate courses that complement/supplement the main degree are a strong asset.
A minimum of two years of professional work experience in WASH-related programmes for developing countries is required.
Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official UN language or local language of the duty station is considered as an asset.
