The current UNICEF-Government of Zimbabwe Country Programme of Cooperation (2016-2020) aims to support Zimbabwe to sustain and build upon the gains achieved for children during the 2012-2015 Country Programme of Cooperation. The programme focuses on improving the quality of social services, increasing access to services, and helping to build national and sub-national capacities to provide low-cost, high-impact interventions for all children, especially the most vulnerable.

How can you make a difference?
The Supply and Logistics Officer (Education Supplies) performs highly skilled work on UNICEF supply chains, focusing on education programme related goods, manages complex cases and client requests, which frequently requires the evaluation of difficult situations and adaptation of procedures and processes to resolve such cases. The incumbent closely liaises between Education and Supply Sections to lead and carry out responsibility for end to end supply chain management from the beginning to the end of the process and provide input into the design and development of improved supply chain services and delivery mechanisms for the Education programme.
Summary of key functions/accountabilities:
Support to program development and planning
Program management, monitoring and delivery of results
Technical and operational support to program implementation
Report writing and documentation

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…
Education:
A university degree in Business Administration, Management, Economics, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Procurement, Contract/Commercial Law, International Development, Education or related social science field is required.
Experience:
A minimum of one year of relevant experience, at the national and international levels, in supply, logistics, procurement, contracting, administration and/or other directly-related technical fields is required. Understanding of development and humanitarian work is an advantage.
Language Requirements:
Fluency in English and knowledge of the local language at the duty station is required. Knowledge of another official UN language is considered as an asset.
