UNICEF Madagascar is currently implementing a social protection program as part of the country programme. The Social Protection Specialist reports to the Chief Social Policy and Evaluation (P4) at the CO. The incumbent will work within the social policy, research and evaluation section and will coordinate with other sections at UNICEF
How can you make a difference?
Under the general guidance of the supervisor, the incumbent is responsible for providing technical support to the implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of all stages of social protection programing and related advocacy from strategic planning and formulation to delivery of concrete and sustainable results. This includes working closely with the ministry in charge of social protection in the country, and strengthening coordination with other national actors, donors and UN agencies, including the national social protection group/cash group. S/he will provide technical assistance and ensure monitoring of national cash transfer program supported by UNICEF.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…
Advanced university degree in Economics, Public Policy, Social Sciences, International Relations, Political Science, or other relevant disciplines
Minimum of five years of relevant professional work experience is required.
Developing country work experience and/or familiarity with emergency is considered a strong asset.
Fluency in French and English is required. Knowledge of the local language is an asset
