Scope of Work
Goal and Objective:
Under the supervision of Chief of Planning, Monitoring and Evaluations and under the guidance of the Deputy Representative the consultant will edit and proofread (a) donor reports; (b) the Country Office Annual Report and the related Results Assessment Reports and (c) concept notes and donor materials with a focus on results-based management.
Provide details/reference to AWP areas covered:
The consultant will support to the quality assurance function of the office by ensuring editing of donor materials as well as other reports aimed for the public domain.
Activities and Tasks:
Review and editing of
– selected donor reports as mentioned below (estimated 9 donor reports ranging from 15-30 pages each)
– Programmatic Advocacy files and Concept Notes (approx. 20 pagers)
– Proposals as necessary (approx. 30 pages)
– Knowledge Managment products including policy briefs (approx. 30 pages)
– Annual Report Submission (approx. 75 pages)
Work relationships:
The consultant will work under the direct supervision of the Chief of Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation and in close collaboration with the Deputy Representative and all Heads of Section.

Payment Schedule
Payments will be made upon satisfactory completion of the above deliverables based on the following schedule:
28% of contract after complete submission deliverable 1, 2, 3, 4, 8
28% of contract after complete submission deliverable 5, 6,12,13
44% of contract after complete submission of deliverable 7, 9, 10, 11, 14
Desired competencies, technical background and experience
Advanced University degree journalism, communication, research, policy or other related fields
At least eight years of working experience in journalism, communication, research, policy or other related fields
Proven experience in working as a rapporteur or writing reports for UN agencies
Proven experience in results-based reporting
Excellent writing and editing skills in English
Writing and editing skills in French will be an asset
Extensive experience of working with UNICEF or other UN agencies
Administrative issues & Conditions
The consultant will use own equipment for the completion of the consultancy.
The consultant is expected to submit a financial proposal including all costs related to this consultancy. Payment will be made against the above stated deliverables based on the outlined payment schedule.
The candidate selected will be governed by and subject to UNICEF’s General Terms and Conditions for individual contracts.
Risks
Documents not completed on time for submission to the consultant.
Delay in the editing that will not allow the country office to meet its obligations.
Editing is changing the meaning of the document.
