The ACP-EU Program for Development Minerals is a capacity building program which aims to improve the profile and management of Development Minerals. The program is an initiative of the African, Caribbean and Pacific Group of States (ACP), funded by the European Union and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and implemented by the UNDP.

The ACP-EU Development Minerals Program was launched with funding of € 11.1 million from the European Commission (EC) and UNDP. The Program will build the capacity of artisanal and small-scale mining enterprises (EMAPEs) operating in member countries of the Organization of African, Caribbean and Pacific States (ACP).
The program aims to support ASGMs to improve their productivity, create jobs, increase incomes and implement environmental and social measures in and around the sites. Six target countries benefit from the program including Cameroon, Guinea, Uganda, Zambia, Jamaica and the Fiji Islands.
Implemented by UNDP Guinea in collaboration with the Ministry of Mines and Geology, the grant applications are intended for operators of artisanal and small-scale mines and quarries, mining cooperatives and small businesses in the minerals sector of Development.
Funding Information
The maximum amount is $ US 5,000 per successful project. The proposals must cover the strategic priorities indicated in the directives and the outline. They must include: a signed motivation letter, the final project proposal, the relevant additional attachments. Applicants who have not received an answer within 14 days of the closing date must consider their application as unsuccessful.
Target
The call for grants targets ASGMs working on the pilot sites covered by phase I of the program. However, requests from artisanal and small-scale mining operators and companies active in the sector will also be considered.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have participated in at least one of the training workshops on “training of trainers and peer educators” during the first phase of the ACP-EU Development Minerals program.
Please ensure that your project proposal is clear and concise, preferably no more than 8-10 pages of text, excluding attachments (no more than 10 pages).
